A Heartwarming Story of Motherly Love - মায়ের ভোলা ব্যাপার

As the sun rose over our small village, I remember my mother's gentle voice calling out to me. 'Beta, wake up! Today is a special day,' she said with a warm smile on her face.

I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and slowly got out of bed. Mother was already dressed in her traditional saree, looking every bit like an elegant woman ready for any occasion. She handed me a beautiful red-and-golden blouse to wear along with it.

'Ma, why are you asking me to dress up today?' I asked curiously.

'It's your birthday beta,' she replied with tears of joy in her eyes. 'Today is the day we celebrate our special bond – mother and son.'

I couldn't believe what I was hearing! My heart skipped a beat as memories flooded back - all those late night feedings, early morning playtime sessions under the shade of our old mango tree... it felt like just yesterday when life had been so simple.

But before I could even process everything, my mother led me outside to find everyone from our village gathered around us. There were colorful decorations hanging from every pole; there was an aroma of delicious food wafting through the air...

And then suddenly - without warning - it all came crashing down!

As we walked towards them, a loud thunderclap boomed across the sky! The next thing I knew, dark clouds had rolled in and heavy rain started pouring down. Pandemonium broke out as people ran for cover.

I remember my mother grabbing onto me tightly saying 'Don't worry beta! We'll be fine!' And then - just like magic - everything went black!

When I woke up again, it was pitch dark inside our small hut. My head hurt badly and there was blood all over the floor...

'Ma... Ma? Are you okay?' I cried out in panic.

'Yes Beta,' she replied weakly from behind me. 'I'm fine dear. Just give momma a minute.'

She slowly got up from where she must have fallen on top of me, cradling our newborn baby girl close to her chest...

'Maa... Maa!' I sobbed uncontrollably as reality hit us - we had lost everything but each other that fateful day.

But even in such times of unimaginable loss and trauma, there was something truly beautiful about seeing my mother. Her love for me - for our little family - it shone brighter than any light could ever hope to match...
